OT:PayPal fined
I know this is off topic. But I thought the people who actually use EBAY might find this useful.

Oh and just a heads up to all of you out there who are becoming more and more skeptical of ebay and paypal......It was brought to my attention yesterday that someone has replicated ebay's site and is sending update notices to its users asking to reverify all of your information. If you get this email disregard it and contact ebay. My fathers superintendant at work had his account hacked and found two 4-wheelers for sale that obviously werent his not a day after he found this email.
Hackers are becoming more frequent and skilled at what they're doing. So to all of you i just wanted to say watch your account on a daily basis even if you havent been the most frequent user...in all honesty your are the type of user they target the most because they can be in and out of your account before you even know whats going on.

Hackers are dickless pussies who get off on causing problems for people. If they had more ***** they would key cars but they don't so they stay at home and play with there computers hoping to meet a girl who looks like Trinity!

I don't think it takes much skill to replicate an Ebay-ish looking email, what takes skill is getting the email account information to replicate an authentic address... (which was not done)
argh. way off topic, and i rarely post in here, but there's a common misconception going on that makes innocent people look bad.
Hackers = people who are into technology for education sake, to LEARN how things work, not to break into people's systems, or destroy data, or steal identities/information/money
crackers = idiots who leech of what hackers learn and document to take advantage of other people, or hack/deface websites.
HACKERS are not the ones at fault here, CRACKERS are. big difference, even if it doesn't look like it. Sad, but even dictionary.com has the wrong idea. I doubt this will make ANY difference, but it makes me feel better.
edit: very very old, but what most (hah! more like, few.) "true" hackers go by. (I've been a hacker since i was a youngin, BBS's, IBM PS2's.)

AmginE:
Correction Hacker: One who uses programming skills to gain illegal access to a computer network or file.
That is the actual definition. Look it up. I have been around for awhile. Apple IIe Commadore 64, Tandy. You know when you have to use command lines. Before the mighty GUI.
Agreed though. Way off topic....

Ugh, I gotta correct all of you.
Original hackers were a group of MIT students who worked with model trains. Get your facts straight
And the whole, "Their not hackers, their crackers" bullshit; the people who scam and make replicate sites to defraud are neither. They are criminals, pure and simple.
