Hey I was wondering if anyone knows anything I can do to my bike that will make it faster thats CHEAP. It's obviously a crf250r, my first bike and I am selling it after summer so I don't wanna put a **** load into it just a lil here and there. thanks.

 

that 250 four stroke should be fast enough for you. if you cant pin that bike in 3rd gear around the berms on a track and hit off camber jumps... dont try and make it faster. but if you really want. go with a aftermarket pipe and change your sprockets.

 

Well aftermarket pipes, and sprockets are still expensive, I was talkin real cheap. I really don't need to do anything to it yet though I was just wondering just in case u know.

If it's your first bike, you don't need to make it faster. I have riden an 04 CRF250 on a track and I am an experienced rider and it has plenty of power. I can rape my friends badly on a TT track riding a CRF230 and it has less power and weighs 240 pounds.

Just learn to ride.

 

are you crazy, the crf250 is the hottest bike. there is not needto make it any faster. besides, if it is your first bike, there is no way that you will be able to handle it anywayz. also, hy would you get rid of it so quick, its so new.

 

Um ya I am crazy actually. I already rape people with it even though I am a beginner. Sorry for asking a question and wanting to atleast learn how to improve my bike even if I don't need to. Oh and I am moving to Wyoming for school next year and can't take it with me and want to sell it before waiting a year and a half till the value goes way down. By then I will just by the 06". peace

 

still, i dont think you need ant mods. you could get a new pipe. it already comes with renthal bars, and a gripper seat. you could get renthal sprockets. shave some weight. that's all i can think of without doing to much major. it's a hot bike anywayz.

 

The best cheap mod you can do is free.

Get with someone who has raced or ridden a bike like yours for a while, and learn how to set up the suspension. If you can get the suspension tuned to fit you and your riding style, it will make you faster.

As a beginning rider, you really don't need to make the bike faster. You need to make you faster. Learn how to shift, learn how to turn, learn how to jump without crashing, learn how to move around on the bike to make either tire get more or less traction as you need it, learn how to watch other faster riders and pick up on their lines and the little things they do that make them faster.

That bike in stock form is fast enough to win races. The only limiting factor at this point is the loose nut on the controls.

 

yeah, you could set the race sag, that would help but, bassist is right. work on yourself before you work on the bike. remember, it's 90% rider, 10% bike.
