A-Spec
Hey guys... whats up. I'm new here... currently I have a Integra GSR.
Goin' for the RSX-S... but I've been seeing these "A-Spec" branded RSX-S's and I've run a quite a bit of Google searches and I typed A-Spec in search here and got nothin.
So what's the difference between A-Spec and non A-Spec? The only obvious ones I notice are upgraded rims... w/Yokohama ES100's... but what about engine, suspension, interior, accessories??
Thanks... sorry if this has already been covered... if you could provide me with a detailed link if so... thank you.

A-Spec
-17 inch wheels with Yokohama tires
-Upgraded shocks and springs
-Type-R body kit (lip, side skirts, wing)
-brake pads
-shift ****?
-badging
Total: ~$5000
I would usually take this opportunity to rant about how much I hate A-Spec but I'll let you respond first.

Why would you not like it lol? It would look nicer... and have an awesome upgraded stock sleeper look. I'm all for the sleeper look... make it look stock haulin the power...
Or actually... I'm not diggin the Type R wing... its too big for me... upgraded shocks and springs... omg as if I wasn't going to change them! Wheels only thing good out of it...
Oh well, thanks anyways.
Anyone else have any addition to the information about the A-Spec and I'd like to hear some oppinions...
To A-Spec or not to A-Spec? That is the question...

Paying 28-29K for an RSX after that kit is rediculous IMO. For that amount you are into 350Z, EVO, 03 s2000 territory which i would choose in a heartbeat over the a-spec crap. And id hardly call the kit a "sleeper" look, with giant spoiler and big rims.
well, i saw an a-spec in person and it's a nice car, no doubt. is it worth it? probably not. fact, you can get a better car than an a-spec for the money you'll spend on it, IF that's what you wanted. if you spend $5000 in performance and cosmetic mods on a rsx-s you can "make it your own". nicer, faster, a better handler, and unique. BUT if you have the money and the a-spec is what you want, i say get it, as long as it makes YOU happy with no regrets.
The A-Spec RSX-S looks decent, but it is not worth the price tag attached to it.
- 17inch alloy rims
- Yokahama tires
- Track tuned suspension ( .5-1.o inch drop)
- OEM body kit
- ITR wing
- Titanium interior trim
- A-Spec badge
- One sore ***.
Save the cash and invest into a a nice full coilover system, intake, race header, and exhaust and be set. As for tires go with Falken Azenis.

i have the a-spec and i dont regret it one bit. i got it because 1. it was the best deal that i could get with my car traded in and such and 2. i would have gone with jus the regular old non a-spec if it wasnt for the great deal i got on the a-spec.
i dont regret it one bit.

A-Spec is pretty much just for looks. Sure, it has upgraded suspension...but it really isn't much faster. It just depends on whether you want "show" or "go."

The reason I vehemently despise A-Spec (and HFP) is that it is American Honda's way of weaseling out of us getting either of the Type-R's. I'm sure somewhere in Torrance the marketing folks had a meeting and said:
"The Type-R's are expensive, and we'd have to do some work to bring them here"
"Why don't we just give them the suspension and body kit, these American's don't appreciate the R's anyway, and they won't know the difference"
"Yeah, and we can make even more PROFIT!"
*clamoring* "PROFIT!!!" "PROFIT!" "PROFIT!!!"
"Do you think our customers are that stupid? I mean, after all with the Integra Type-R they got a stiffer chassis, bigger brakes, more power, a limited-slip, better aero, better interior, better transmission, less weight, and better suspension. We're going to be charging twice as much for only 3 of the things the Type-R offered?"
"Well after seeing the success of the Fast and the Furious, I'd have to wager Americans are that stupid."
"Agreed."
Every person who buys the RSX A-Spec or HFP Si proves their point

I went to the dealer asking them about the asking about the a spec kit and I explained that I could go buy better after market things for the same price. The only response he had was warranty. Which is BS anyway because they can't void yours anyway. Unless that performance part did the damage to the car.

Correct, the only warranty voided is on the part you replace, so if you replace the OEM Suspension it is no longer covered by warranty. If something OEM fails they would have to prove that a Non OEM add on caused it to void the warranty of that OEM Part. Also a Dealership cannot void any warranty on any part, only Honda itself can.

ACTUALL MY SUSPENSION IS WAY NICER THEN THEN MY OLD RSX AND THE DEALER TOLD ME THE PAINT WAS DIFFERENT, MINE IS WHITE AND IF YOU LOVE HONDAS WHY NOT BY A NICE ONE. EVERYONE IS ALWAYS LIKE, "WHY DIDNT YOU GET AN sti OR AN evo " BECAUSE I LOVE HONDAS
Read this article. You are going to get alot of personal opinions here from different users. I personaly got the a-spec suspension only and it handles great for a daily driver.
