Why are you posting to the forced induction forum about the fuel efficiency of your stock engine? Helms manual, and regular tech forums, will tell you everything you need to know about diagnosing a code 43.

injectors could be stuck open. on a stock fuel system they have to be maxed out but that still shouldnt use that much gas. how does the car idle?

yep. took out the intank fuel pump put the stock one back on. took out the fmu. i have vafc hack does that do anything? i havent messed with it. the fuel settings are at zero. its weird u know how u turn on ur car in the morning and it revs to like 2k rpm to warm up then when it's warmed up it goes back down? mine just stays at 1k rpm. and i was starting to over heat today. the weather over here in cali just got hot for some reason the past two days.

i took the injectors i have right now on the y8 from my d15b jdm vtec motor. the injectors were fine when it was runnin on that motor.

Well change out the p72 for a stock p28 if u are running obd 1 or a p2t or what ever the stock computer it is on an obd 2 y8 motor. You are running fuel maps for a dual cam motor. So that could be your problem

i think you can unbolt the injectors and keep them on the fuel rail, then turn the car on(obvoiusly dont start it) and see if an injector sprays.

I was getting a code 43 for a while and it turned out that my o2 sensor was getting pretty black. I assume that it was causing it to read lean and the ecu would then try to add more fuel. By trying to add more fuel than the ecu thinks it should cause the code 43. Makes sense to me. Might wanna check it out since it only take a few minutes.

my 02 is disconnected and i get 18mpg still... if that helps at all. i'm 95% sure it'll give you a different code for an 02 sensor anyway, code 1 for sensor, and 41 for heater circuit.

true.. code one is for o2.. what can code 43 be? i know its fuel but what exactly?

can it be this? i broke the aluminum hose tryin to install a fuel guage lol. so i had to custom a new one can that be the problem but i wouldnt think so here's a pic.

Code 1 is for a defective O2 sensor, as in it fails to respond, respond quickly, or gives a steady input that doesn't fluctuate which indicates a short (usually with the O2 heater circuit).

Code 43 is for when the O2 sensor is responsive and the ECU can tell it is good, but sends messed up information to the ECU. I'm fairly certain you can kick a code 43 from a consistent lean run situation, but it is usually due to a consistent rich run situation.

You are running a 170 hp 1.8 liter ECU on a 125 hp 1.6 liter engine. Care to guess where your code 43 comes from? If you'd bothered to tell us about your setup in the first place, I could have answered your Q the first time around.

YES! Deff. replace the ECU and the 02 sensor at the same time, and it should be fine. I think all the extra fuel ruined the 02, so theres no point in getting just the o2, or just the ecu. get both and tell us how it is.
