Looking for insight on where to go next with the project
alright, so I had that 1st Gen B16 swap write up thread from 2 weekends ago. Been having fun driving the car around, I LOVE it. still breaking in the clutch so don't want to be too abusive..it's hard though.
I'm either going to Turbo this B16, or stay NA.
I figure NA would cost me:
CTR pistons with rings: $320
CTR Cams..NEW..: $700
Port Flow Valve Springs: $190
Mugen Head gasket: $120
ARP Rod bolts and head studs: $160
Cam gears: $225
Mugen Chip for PR3: $20
VAFC for fine tuning: $200
Custom ITB's using GSXR or 949rr's: $300
Total: ~2225$
Not sure what power I would have, I would think maybe 170-180whp? more? But I could rev to about 9500RPM I would imagine. this would be REALLY fun to drive.
Or do a custom turbo kit for about the same price or even a little less, use VAFC and DSM injectors, run 10PSI on stock motor from a T3, run ~200-225whp. Have to be a little more carefull with turbo motor when beating on it but still would be SICK to drive. And would be quite a bit more power then NA, for less.
Here's the dilema
I've done the custom turbo thing a few times now, I LOVE boost, but I have never done the NA thing. I know it's a lot of money. but if I could get roughly 180-190whp when all is said and done and rev to 9500rpm..I think the car would be really amazing to drive.
What would you do?

I'd boost it but that's just me. Right now I'm working on a NA b16a but I have a feeling I'd be able to hang with more cars if I turbo'd it.
I'm doing a B18C1 NA swap right now. I've had boost and yeah its fun but I don't think there's a more spine chilling feeling reving to 9-10k and still have it reliable.
Plus I do open track events and NA is best (rodrez quote) with a broad powerband

That's pretty much what I figured.
Speaking to a few people they tell me that I can have a NA setup that is lower powered then a boosted setup and be just as fast.
I am imagining reving to 10000rpm..... *DROOL*
