Default Shaved Sides

hey guys i was woundering for all you tegs who shave your side moldings what did you do to clean up where it used to be or fill in those holes?

sand/grind old paint off, weld, grind, sand, bondo, sand again, primer, sand again, and paint.

my buddy is doing the same thing, he welded his shut and smoothed and put plastic fill in the low spots. It looks sooo clean now and its smoooth.

if u dont know what bondo is ur gonna have some problems bondo = body filler

I depends on how good of a job you want, and how well you know the guy who's doing it. If you're repainting the car anyways, then someone probably wouldn't charge but a couple of hundred bucks for it. But if you want just this done, then plan on spending quite a bit.

They pretty much have to paint the entire car almost to paint match after you do this.

A local body shop here told me they use a special body filler that's meant for doors. It's supposed to be stronger than bondo, so you don't have to worry about the fill cracking or separating after repeated opening and closing of the doors.
