Well not buying the NSX but going to Turbo the R insted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nothing wrong with turbo.... As long as he's got the right set up and tuning. he'll be set. THen he needs to improve on driving and he'll have a killer car. Nothing wrong with a stock R though. Thats what I have and love it because I consider myself pretty experience in driving and still haven't pushed the car to its real limit yet. From what i hear Drag III is good...for your $$..Don't forget Tunning $$$

custom..u'll hear that a lot from turbo owners
dont cheap out on ur car..if ur gonna do it, do it right..get a good turbo, a quality stainless steel manifold, build the motor up, get a good stand alone..and then NSX's will be farrrr away in ur thoughts and in ur rear view mirror.

Just my opinion, I dont think its a right decision to turbo the R. I've read a magazin that compares a turbo R and an N/A R. The turbo R definitely has more power, but because of the extra power, it lose its ability to go fast when enter corners, since it'll result in overtsteers...alos, a turbo R doesn't last long on the track as the N/A R.
If you want the power, or you just like the feel of Turbo, then go for it, but if you like R becuase of its handling, then stay w/ N/A setup.
just my opinion.

If you want simple bolt on kit get Apexi' CTR and ITR turbo kits. If you want alot more power go for the Top Fuel bolt on kit. You can get other turbines but I don't believe anything beats KKK turbos as it's whats used to make SARD, Apexi', Greddy, TopFuel, Blitz, HKS. Plus there used on the twin turbo Porches and you never seem them break normally..the next best has to be IHI turbo's which are really known for being the choice turbo in the WRC. There used in the WRX and Subaru's in the WRC and even Ford had them on there car atleast yr ago I believe. But normally WRC cars have tyre , sus., or trans probalems before anything else goes in the car.
i'm debating on the kit myself.. hahha with no money.. so it will be a long debate!
anyhow.. where can i get info on APEXI turbo kits for CTR and ITR or the HKS one? i'm looking for both intercooled.. lmk..
thanks

Turboing an engine which was not meant to be turbo'ed is not a very good idea
Honda doesn't make turbo engines for a reason, ya know.
it's true...here we have another R lost to 1320.

The best turbo for your car is the used DRAG GEN. III kit (cast manifold, turbo, intercooler, vortech fmu, hks blowoff valve, turbonetics wastegate, high flow fuel pump) im selling with oil pan (oil return line welded), high flow cat, 4 gauges and a gauge Bezel for $2050.00 shipped. The kit was used for a week and everything is in good condition.
if you were in the market for an NSX
that means you've got some $$. so
why not go N/A.. 16:1 compression,
10,000 RPM. hehe. just a thought.

Don't put forced induction on your ITR. That's sacrilegious, you'll burn in hell for all eternity! The Gods at Honda never intended for you to do that, if you do demons will plague your car for the entire time you own it. The ITR has such high compression that even 1psi of boost will send valves flying through your hood and impaling innocent pedestrians who will in turn sue you fro everything you own.
Most importantly though, never, ever, ever, ever make a pass down the 1320 with your car. If you even go bracket racing once in the entire peroiod of ownership, you're not worthy of owning such a fine perfect instrument of road racing. The ITR was made for one thing only, road racing. If you ever do anything else with it at all you will burn in Hell for all eternity for such an affront to the Almighty Honda.
There is only one way to tune an ITR. If you do anything other than hot cams and more compression you are doing it all wrong. You don't want to be all wrong do you? What you want is the exact same setup as everyone else around here. Be a part of the crowd...

go ahead and turbo the R. I used to be all against it myself but after seeing 400+whp out of one I think that's incredibly sweet
But only do it, if you do it right.
