Hi Guys, screw this NA stuff I want to go Turbo. Who makes a good quality turbo for a relatively inexpensive price? I have never had a turbo and have no idea what direction I need to go in? Car is a 98 LS/hybrid CivicThanks

There's no such thing as an inexpensive turbo setup. You'll need all the turbo parts, as well as a good way to control your fuel and ignition. Drag and Revhard make very good kits for the money. Try to stay away from the GReddy since it uses a small turbo and gives you less for the same amount of money.
good luck,
Jared

Ben I have a 2000 Civic Si. I am thinking about turbo right now. All i have is an AEM CAI and A Tanabe Racing Medalian Exhaust. What turbo do you think would be the best for my car and what parts would i need to buy with the kit

If any board member wants to discuss the building of your dream car, email me privately. As hard as I try, I can't seem to catch every question that's directed toward me on the board.
I will disagree with you Jared on the Greddy kit. I have it on my GSR and have run a 12.3 at 111mph on a 90 degree day with nothing done to the motor. And itz a great kit for everyday since I have not yet had a problem with it and I have had it for about a year now.
That's on a GSR. I think when he said smaller he was thinking about something like the regular Civic kit that comes with the tiny mitsu turbo.
Damn, I need a wastegate. RRE has them for $225 but only in .8 bar. What can you do on those Ben?

Honda-Tech.com members Tial Wastegate price: $220.00
We only have .45bar in stock. These wastegates sell fast and take forever to get in so we'd rather not discount them to anyone other than you guys.

i'm using the greddy gsr kit but on my 95 ls/93 civic hatch. the 18G is not that small...anybody who see's it says that it is a big turbo. no one ever says it's small, except for turbo diesel truck drivers. yeah, there are better kits but my (2 week ran, then wrecked) kit was only 1000 and i even got the "11 intercooler so i don't ever complain. if i'm ever in doubt, i just go and drive my car and get in smiley mode real fast. the sohc turbo is quite small though. how much boost do you run Gmedallion?
Hey Ben,
whats up with that. I bought mine from you 2 days ago for 250? Im a honda-tech member

if i buy the greddy turbo kit for the civic sohc and put it on a zc its supposed to run 13's at 12psi, but that turbo is almost maxed out at that point. is the piping that comes with this kit big enough to upgrade to maybe a t3/t4 turbo and still use the same piping and everything. if i decided to later on after the motor is built.
