Default Gauge cluster problem...

I took the gauge cluster out to fix the broken frame on the inside of the speedo
near the temp gauge.(last owner cracked it trying to install gauge faces). I only
disconnected three plugs from the back, and notice a fourth opening for a plug.
I reinstall everything, and my rpm, speedo, temp, and gas gauge do not work.
Any resolutions? I do not have that fourth plug between(when looking from the back) the two largest plugs. the middle plug is missing. What is that plug for, cuz
whatever is it, it was working without it. Thanks in advance.

you might have pulled it out when pulling out the cluster so look behind it to see if the clip fell back

also one more thing you might have not plugged them in in the right spot. i did that while installing it. i had the same problem. you also might have blown a fuse also(happind to me also) check the fuses under the steering wheel and check the wires

Plugs are all in place and tight. The gas and temp gauge work and the RPM and speedo work sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. Any clues?

i had kindof a similar problem on my 90 but i dont know what year yours is. Solution for the speedo is check the cable that runs from the cluster thru the firewall to the tranny. Make sure that the end going into the tranny is pushed all the way in. Maybe it helps maybe it doesnt but i do better actually being with the car needing work so check it and see. Goodluck.
