Default thoughts?

ok i've been offered a trade for my car and wanted to know what you guys think of it.

it's a 97 civic hatch with a 2000 b16b, 2000 ctr suspension and brakes, gm itr wheels, neuspeed race springs with kyb adjustables, apexi w.s. exhaust, usdm itr front and rear seats, itr ****, si gauge cluster, 23 mm rear sway....

this car and 4k for my itr:

2000 py itr w/51k
tein hr's
15x7 volk te-37's
comptech short ram and comptech header
oem optional sides and rear
everything else stock

i've been mulling this over since yesterday when i drove the civic.
the main issue for me was a)the civic won't hold the value the itr will, b)the civic didn't pull near as hard as my r does, and c)i'm not sure 4k is enough.

anyone with experience with a b16b? i've been told it's identical to the c5 as far as the block and head, but that the crank is what causes the smaller displacement.

would it be feasible to put a c5 crank in the b16b to up the torque a little?

any thoughts would be very helpful.

I'd keep the Hype R or just sell it outright and built yourself a hybrid if that's what you want.

Lower resale value. You are trading down esentially, regardless of the modifications.

I wouldn't. It might be faster, lighter, etc... but I would never trade for a car with significantly less value.

that's really the number one thing stopping me is the fact that the civic will not hold value and is worth less.
thanks for the input guys....any thoughts on the b16b?

b16b isn't worth having. It's a novelty engine.

it costs too much compared to the b18c5 and b18c-r engines... what's the point?

I wouldn't touch a hybrid unless I either knew the seller or bought all the parts myself

exactly that car has no value...and plus you don't know where all those parts came from..could be a can of worms

Engine is inferior.
Chassis in inferior.
Interior is inferior.
Suspension is inferior.

Keep your car.

Wow, why'd you need a nudge? I think the answer is overwhelmingly obvious.

Unless you need the cash for some emergency I wouldn't trade my R for any civic.

No matter what the Civic has done to it if you totalled it tomorrow you would get market value for it and no reimbursement for the other stuff unless you bought it back or insured it separately. Unless you are hard up for cash I wouldn't do it. Your ITR is still worth about 17-18K
