http://www.dscr.net/ubb/Forum2/HTML/003363.html

This guy claims his motor is pushing 240 WHP and 150 WTQ with a stock USDM ITR bottom-end (with thinner gaskets netting 11.5:1CR). Read the posts... what do all you NA gurus think about this?

I thinks he's bullshitting - or else he dynoed on a very generous machine. I would like to see the slip myself.

I think the ITB's would be the biggest factor in high power output at high RPM, but 240 with a GSR head? No way

11. 15x6.5 Rota slipstreams in black with 195/50/15 tires -- $1200 (these are the knockoffs of the Spoon SW388s)

LOL those better be some DAMNED nice **** tires.

I like his used ITR tranny price too. Mike K.. can you sell me a used ITR tranny for 1500 please!

I think this guy is BSing.. I wonder if he even has those parts.... he might.. but if so I really doubt the #'s.

n/m, /me is a WE TODD. Those prices are CDN.. which makes me more suspicious.. I mean the seller is in Detroit, MI but the car is in Toronto.. so the prices are in CDN? Then he's gotta go exchange the funds for USD? Does that make any sense to anyone here?!?

He must of had one hell of a tuner to get those numbers...assuming 15% drivetrain loss, you're talking about 276 hp at the flywheel, or 154 hp per liter...I don't think that the header has the capability to flow those kind of numbers.

umm what site is that, those guys making the comments besides you Tony have no clue what they're talking about.

if 240 was so easy to make, we'd all have it. I especially like the comment about the 12:1 compression.. what a fuggin idiot.

I am still waiting for his graph! But I don't think that will happen anytime soon
But if he knows about Lip's NA beast, chances are that he's a member of Honda-Tech as well...hmm..interesting...

Hey Tony...that signature pic you have on DCR forum is awesome.

I laughed out loud.

Good stuff.

About that guys motor...I don't know...but then again...i don't know everything...so I will give him the benifit of the doubt.

I would also race him for big money in the latest customers B20 hatch than "ONLY" makes 232 WHP and 158 lbs of torque.

Its a 1992 Civic hatch.

I would race him and give him the go......if he wants..at the track..

240+ is HUGE. i mean HUGE HP. for a 1.8.

Thats unheard of.

My completely, fully built Endyn motor 1.8, only did about 218 WHP with JUN 3's running 12.6:1 compression...

And our own fully built 1.8 made 228 WHP 1.8 liter.

12.6:1 compression, with Hi-tech header borrowed...

Yo Jeff,

I thought you were anti-endyn? or is that someone else? I remember some drama a little while ago about Larry, and some BSing.

So, in that case, wouldn't using the Endyn engine as an example of a high-output 1.8 be sorta pointless? If Larry is a sham, then his engine-building techniques are probably not worth comparing to.....

Sorry, but I am sorta anti-Endyn myself because of my experiences with Larry and a supercharger he "modified" for a friend of mine.

Hahaha..good one

Well Jeff, this guy is apparently parting out his motor... I doubt he will race you since it's all parted out...lol!

I just think it's all smack talk about the power figures that this guy is claiming out of a 1.8L... I especially hated the statement: "I have seen 10.6CR 1.8s and 12.1CR 1.8s making identical power with basically the same parts"...

I was using the fully built Endyn motor as an Example..

and I assembled the entire thing here, not him...and I still have the head running on a car.

i think 218 for a fully built 1.8 liter is not great. That was my point. We threw one together in 2 days that made 10 HP more at the wheels, same cams, same header, same intake, same spark plugs.

The only difference was the head porting, the intake manifoild and the pistons.

I'll call him out. I live in the Detroit area and have a real good idea who this is There aren't many fast hondas in the area so we can keep track. The motor was in a hatchback if I'm correct. The car was never run on Dynojet only on a Mustang Eddy Current Chassis Dyno. There has been talk that the one he ran it on (not my friends) has been posting low #s. I'm guessing he is trying to convert to Dynojet figures. That all for now

Sounds like less than my motor....

And I ONLY put down 189.9whp... with no cam tuning...

Suspect.
