Want a Starter bike! yzf 600?
HEy whats up fellas, ive been riding dirtbikes all my life, im 17 now, and i want to get a play toy for the weekend and when im working on the gsr. Im trying to decide what size i should get, and i found a great deal on a bike and want to know what you guys think of it thanks! Although i havent had a feel for a street bike i feel like i have the skills to ride one, I am confident, my dad use to ride bikes and, I am aggressive but, know my limits.i feel like riding dirtbikes, although its different helped me develop skills needed for the street. I think i found a great deal on a 2003 yzf 600 with factory warranty 1800 miles riding jacket and helmet for 3,600, in order to get this bike i want to sell my dirt bike. Let me know what you guys think and if this bike is a good starter, or if someone can show me where to research motorcycles thanks~
This bike is a GREAT starter bike. Almost nothing's changed since its introduction, since it's been eclipsed by the R6. It's still extremely capable. The riding position is more humane than current middleweight sporbikes such as the 600RR, R6, and ZX6R. It's also reliable.
$3600 seems a bit too good to be true. Use caution. Good luck!

i just picked up my 2003 yamaha 600r last week
check out this link, it may help you decide http://www.sportrider.com/bike....html
according to their dyno charts, the 600r makes approximately 12hp more than the R6 in the midrange and falls less than 9hp from the R6 in the top end. of course the R6 is lots lighter, but not too bad imo! i just wish they made the '03 FI.
but honestly, i don't know about that price man... that is just way too good to be true. blue book value in my area is $5,050 for an '03 and that's with approximately 7,500 miles
also, check out http://www.yzf600r.com if you're really interested in the 600r

I'd def recommend a 97-up YZF600R as a beginner bike.
I had a 98, loved it. Matter of fact, I'd like to have another one for a daily commuter type bike.

good ol' yzf 600r, that was my first bike ever... i had a great time with it and loved it.. i would have kept it but i just loved the sexy look of the r6... however, like everyone said, double check on the price... it does seem too good to be true..
good luck..
good luck..
