Default HEy whats up fellas, ive been riding dirtbikes all my life, im 17 now, and i want to get a play toy

HEy whats up fellas, ive been riding dirtbikes all my life, im 17 now, and i want to get a play toy for the weekend and when im working on the gsr. Im trying to decide what size i should get, and i found a great deal on a bike and want to know what you guys think of it thanks! Although i havent had a feel for a street bike i feel like i have the skills to ride one, I am confident, my dad use to ride bikes and, I am aggressive but, know my limits.i feel like riding dirtbikes, although its different helped me develop skills needed for the street. I think i found a great deal on a 2003 yzf 600 with factory warranty 1800 miles riding jacket and helmet for 3,600, in order to get this bike i want to sell my dirt bike. Let me know what you guys think and if this bike is a good starter, or if someone can show me where to research motorcycles thanks~

Sounds like an awesome deal on the bike, and the YZF is a good starter bike in my opinion. The only thing right now that seems like it could hurt you is your "confidence", imho it's better to be scared shitless of the bike...keeps you from doing anything st00pid right away. Any bike experience is helpful, and like you said...if you ACTUALLY know your limits, you should be fine.

*edit* double post like whoah!

a motorcycle is not a play toy.....a nintendo is a play toy....thats probably the first thing you should learn.

I say go for it. $3.6k for a YZF is a good deal IMO!

That sounds like a AWESOME DEAL!!! Make sure if it's not a local deal or somebody you know that they are legit because that's almost too good to be true! for you for finding it!!! Also, I don't remember if Cali is like this but I think in VA you have to have driven for like 5 years or be 19 or older for insurance and also I'm pretty sure you had to be 19 for your license. (Not too sure on Cali's laws, it's been like 6 years...) I rode dirtbikes the whole time I lived in CAli and it DOES help you a lot rather than if you had never rode before. There are still things that you will have to get used to (like not putting your foot down on turns... ) but in general you should pick the rest up in no time. But check on the laws and if all is well then again it's a sick deal! Good luck.

Damn, that means I'm going to be good some day!!!??? Awesome! No, I'm just messing around. Riding a dirtbike first does teach you the fundamentals of riding ANY bike. that's just all their is to it.

Later,
