suspension tuning
I know that there are no exact specifications to tune a cars suspension since every car is different, but does anyone have some guidlines on how to do it and what to look and feel for?

How basic a guideline do you need?
How basic a guideline do you need?
First step is to determine what the problem is. Does it push? Is it too loose? Is the response too slow?
If you don't know try riding or driving in a car that is already sorted out and take note of how it handles.
The better you know the problem the easier it is to come up with the solution.

Grassroots Motorsports has a couple good tech articles on their website:

Corner Weighting
swaybar setup
Just some basic tuning advice

I've thought that it would be cool if a racing school had a class that had cars that are set up wrong intentionally (and maybe even over done) so that they can show drivers how to determin when a car is doing something weird and what it takes to fix it. For example a car is understeering really badly, then they adjust the tire pressures so that it brings it back. It could be a suspension tuning class or something.
Maybe I'm just talking out my *** again tho??

carroll smith put out a simple handbook on what to change to get a certain result, and vice versa called "engineer in your pocket". a definitive guidebook if you dont want to read on "why" or "how", just "what".
