where to find an ITR CRX?
I was thinking about running the one lap of america, and thought an ideal "ecomomy class" car would be a 1984-1987ish type R engined CRX.. 1700lbs and 200hp....
Anyone know where to look to find one already done? I am not nearly smart enough to figure out how to do this on my own.
Anyone know if the weight of a 1988 HF is as light as the 1984 CRX's?
Thanks - Scot (i do still have my 97 itr, but it is leaving soon)

I'm pretty sure the 1st gen crx's are lighter than the '88-'91..
As far as where to buy one: build it.
$500 for a shell and drop in a used jdm itr motor and you're done.
I'm on this project right now with a buddy on an '88 crx si... and I'll be happy to give you details once we complete it.

I am working on a project for One Lap of America in 2002/3. We found that a CRX wouldn't perform as well in the corners as a 92 and up civic hatch, because of the way the car would handle in the corners. Spoon and other people have gone with 92 and 93 Si's as the main engine swap track car...Just look at Foo. In additon to the car, u also might want to build your own car because a lot of people put extra crap on their cars that drive up price/you don't need. I will keep everyone posted on my project...It is a Father & Son project. Econ. Class in One Lap is a hard class with Neons (75 shot of NOS) and Saturns with Turbos. A hatch back with a ITR swap was second by a lot to the Saturn this year, usually a Neon wins from N.Y.

Hey there vtecvoodoo...
I really hope you don't let your passenger wear that harness...
If you hit something, that person is most likely going to get hurt, real bad.
