Default Question about 4th gen front / rear knuckles & ball joints

As you probablly know, when a lower ball joint became worn, our friends from honda try to sell a whole knuckle. The ball joint does not exist as a separate part (as it was in 3rd generation of prelude).

The price of whole knuckle kills... However there is a simple and much cheaper solution: the ball joint can be easily extracted (idem as 3rd gen), and you just use a ball joint from 1987-1990 (about) honda legend. The dimensions of a legend ball joint are identical.

My question is about rear knuckles: is the ball joint the same as a front one? Visually it is. Has someone done an exchange?

How do you get the ball joint out of the knuckle anyway? Do you need a press or just bust it out with a hammer?

I have also changed the front lower ball joint, the Legend's one is exactly the same. I am also wondering about the rear one and the UPPER ones. Can these be changed too?

The upper ones does not seem to be interchangeable with legend. I haven't looked exactly, but they seem to be soldered with arm.

The question about rear lower ball joints remains unanswered...

In my opinion you should press them: a hammer is not a good tool, you would risk to deformate the joint.

Even the upper ones can be pressed out - I changed them with some from other Prelude upper arm. But I don't know anything about replacement.
