Default quick question for a genuine type-r part

hey what's up guys, just a quick question and so sorry if it's in the wrong forum, i'll be more precise next time!

anyway, with the itr titanium shift ****, is there any way to tell if one is fake or not? ie is the real one stamped oem honda or have any specific mark on it?

i'm buying one for a little under a hundred, just wanted to make sure it's real....it's a little above the price to be a fake one, but not quite expensive enough to be a real one...so i'm not sure

thanks guys for the help and sorry again if it's in the wrong place

mike

There are no markings...you are basically putting a lot of faith into the seller...100 bucks for a shiftknob is pretty high you ask me...but to answer your question...no there are no markings...just the red "H" shift pattern...

Make sure the shift **** is smooth. The fake ones are pitted.

Hey, it's personal preference...I would never pay 100 bucks for a shiftknob...

The dealership wants 600 for an OEM cat, does that mean you'd pay that? Nope.

The dealer wants 400 for a radiator? I got mine for 80.

You can't really go by dealership prices or everyone would be broke. I'd make a **** out of duck tape before I bought one for 100 bucks...

well i think first off ...the real OEM one has like slight grain lines around it (only noticable upon really close inspection) that in my opinion make it look real metalish. I know it seems hard to tell but another way to tell is that those fake ones on ebay have a very distinct border from the top to the sides check out my listing for my MOMO suede shift boot for sale and there is a pic of my REAL **** there..hope fully that will help you.
