No chip will do anything for your car. Unless you need it to tune your timing tables with a turbocharger or some other sort of forced induction, a new chip won't do anything except waste your money.

You'd have to have a pretty extensively modified car for an aftermarket ECU to do anything at all.

No problem dude.

I just re-read my post. I hope I didn't come off as flaming you. I was serious. Those "Venom" chips and "Jet" chips that you see ads for don't do anything for us.

Maybe if our cars were German and had turbo's already. My friend popped a chip into his Audi S4 and got like another 80hp and 50ft-lbs of torque or some crazy number like that.

i could of sworn i saw some guys with NA gsr's that wanted to chip for higher rpm's.. but then i heard, if u dont have the power for the high end rev.. then ur just reving ur engine for no reason..

but thats just probably like a rev limiter chip or something?

people chip there ECU's on N/A cars to remap fuel and timing

mine is chipped on my LS motor to go 8500. i have a fully built motor and the cams ulitize power to about 8500 so that is why i did mine...

if u have a big set of cams or something it is a good idea so u can get the most out of them as you would want to rev higher.

but without doing motor work there really isnt any reason to get a chip

Wanna go faster with a chip? PM me...we can extract a good amount of power even with your current setup.

You dont need to go with big cams and higher compression...just to maximize an upgraded chip.

With Ebay chips (mugen skunk2 spoon bootlegs), your car has to match the chips specs. But with a chip tuned specifically for your application, the chip matches what is done to the car, and not vice versa

Check my sig.
