Default JUN 2 questions

Anyone know if stock ITR valve springs are sufficient with these cams?

Also, how high do these cams pull? Past 8500? Or do they start to drop drastically after a certain rpm?

I believe these cams can make power up to 9. I'm sure stock r springs would work, but since they are a big cam, I'd call their tech support to make sure those springs wont coil bind. Maybe you should Jeff at Atomic, I know he usually uses portflow springs with his jun setups. I'd go with the extra insurance and get the springs. I like to play it safe.

Do you have a pair that you are putting in your R?

AllMotor_2.0L B18C5,

What HP gains did your friend get with the Jun 2's?

JUN2's will not make power to 9. They will be good for stock redline. They have almost the same profile as toda A's. But they have more duration, and a bit less lift that the A's. Talk to Joey on Clubsi, he's been running them for awhile now. I'm sure he'll see this any reply as well.

So to answer your question, stock ITR springs will be fine.

FAST94GSR: I don't have a set right now, but I am considering a purchase.

I recently dyno'd my car with the Toda Spec A's and they did not do as well as I was expecting. Granted, they made a lot more power from 7000 and up, at least 6-7hp over my last dyno with stock ITR cams. But the midrange was , which is surprising to say the least. From 4000 to 6000, the ITR cams were up by about 5hp and 5ft/lbs. constant. This was mostly due to the fact that when dynoing my ITR cams, 4600 was the best VTEC point. It made a perfect smooth line. If I went below 5200 VTEC with the Spec A's, the power would take a hard dip.

I'm not really sure what to do. I'm willing to give the JUN cams a try since I have heard many good things about them, but as for right now I think for midrange, you're not gonna get much better than properly-tuned ITR cams.

And for the record, I did a plot against my friend's Spec B motor. ITR motor w/ 12:1 Endyn pistons, Mugen header, and Toda B's. Strong motor to say the least. 194.0 and 138.6 at the wheels..
On the plot, my motor with ITR cams was 2-4ft/lbs. above him all the way until 6400 or so, where he jumped on me. I'm telling you.. ITR cams are kick *** for midrange.

With jun 2's you'll get more top end, I guarantee it. I agree that itr cams are excellent midrange cams. I made 183/136 with 11:1 compression, lightly ported head, basic bolt ons. The car would scream and power was down low.

I guarantee your midrange won't be the same as the itr's but your top end will pull up easily past 8400. They're good drag racing cams. When I get the money I'm gonna get me some jun3's can't wait. I got the compression for it!

The Toda babies aren't gonna like what you reported about the their all mighty cams. LOL. I'm still not impressed with their cams. Truth hurts sometimes

I think the JUN 2's are going to work well in your paricular setup, the toda A's are nice, and if you do get thJUN 3's i would be interested in the toda A's, I can even give you the cash, you buy your JUN's and than give me the toda;s when you have a car to drive

You know that JUN says that you have to run thier valvespring with all their cams. I think someone on this board disagrees with me on this as I posted this up last time. But I have seen the paperwork that comes with the JUN cams and it says that it is a must with all their cams. I am not saying that you cant run on other springs, but remember that springs do wear out and eventually break.

I realize that. I have been under the impression of replacing stiff valve springs every 30k or so. Especially Portflow inners or whatever.

I was considering ITR valve springs with titanium retainers.
Spring swap is no problem with the Snap-On On-Car Spring Compressor.

Hey, does anyone want Spec B's? I am keeping my Spec A's for future use still, but my friend has his B's for sale. Email me.
