Axle replaced - Side effects?
Just had passenger side axle replaced. It was making grinding/clicking noise on acceleration (inner CV). Well, that noise is gone, but now it make clicking noises when I accelerate in tight curves or driving in a circle. It also feels a bit sloppy at 65+. I'm supposed to take it back this week. Shop said sometimes they get a bad remanufactured unit. I was just wondering if taking apart the suspension/axle assembly was enough to effect how the car handles. Prior to the axle going bad, the car always felt tight and smooth at any speed. I had no fears driving it 90+. Now, it just doesn't feel right. Any thoughts?
check all the bolts and then take it to get an alignment. I just had one replaced in my camry and it does the same thing, but i haven't had time to take it for an alignment.
I wouldn't be suprised that the alignment needed to be reset since this is the first time the hub has been pulled off. I will probably let the shop check it, and hopefully replace the axle assembly. I took it out yesterday and today for some hard driving and i am not happy. I can feel grinding and hear clicking in a tight circle under acceleration. I probably should just look into getting a lifetime alignment policy since at this point, everytime I do some mod it will probably effect the alignment. I just want it to feel like before...
