to get the most out of the cams you will need more compression

I agree 10.8 compression is not enough for the Spec C's. Need at least above 12.0 compression to make the best use of the cams.

Got a similar set up as you with Toda A's, Toda E/M, Toda cam gears, Toda valve springs, Skunk2 I/M, Skunk 2 retainers, RSR test pipe, JUN Hyper exhaust, JUN clutch & flywheel, etc.

When I spoke with some tuners in Japan, they recommended 13.0:1 compression for the Spec B and C.

you have a b16b with CTR pct pistons....the highest bseries compression piston honda makes.....

C's will work great!!!

get some head work.....mill/deck the head and run a 2 layer headgasket!!!

my b17 on C's put out 197 and 124!!!!!

with ctr pistons.....

how about keep your pistons, buy the spec C's and find a B18c Crank. THen you have 1.8 liters with a b16numbered block (even though it is really a B18C block, and then with the added stroke you can have your low 12 something compression to take better advantege of the spec c. Your Welcome.

we you can do it the way you have stated!!!

you must also get the b18c rods!!!

like i said higher is not always better!!!
only 15 more hp with headwork, header and 1.5 compression difference

What happens when the pistons stick out of your block 5.1 mm? what compression will you be at then? Id use a gsr or ls block if your gonna use a gsr crank and rods.Or you can get custom rods. You have a pretty serious deck height issue.

sorry forgot to mention the rods as well. slightly major oversight on my part. But why would the pistons stick 5.1mm out of the whole. The b16b block is the same exact thing as a b18c block.

Yes you are correct, B16B=B18c, same block. So with a ITR crank and rods he'll have a 12,5:1 CR 1,8 l Should be a nice match for a set of Toda C cams

I'm planning on the same setup, only I have a B18C6 and would need a set of CTR pistons to get there.

Hey Chad don't B17A's w/ CTR's = Low 12:1's making you 2 full points over your friends B16A?

I was under the impression after seeing for myself they stick out of the hole -010" so they are more like 12ish:1 instead of say 11.3:1 with standard .020 PDH?
