What are all you STOCK Block Boys running?
im talking stock pistons, rods, sleeves, everything... i guess i can let head studs slide or any other headwork, but just curious how much boost / whp you guys are putting down safely.
Trying to get a feel for how much I should psi i should push (right now i haven't obtained a whp goal, my goal was to build a reliable (first) very quick street car that didnt die off up high) but i would like to be in the 13s without slicks
yea yea i know, 1/4 mile times and whp are two different things, but im BASICALLY TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW MUCH WHP PEOPLE ARE MAKING AND RUNNING SAFELY ON STOCK BLOCKS...
I'd also appreciate it if you could post either a dyno chart, which turbo, which engine with c/r, what management you are using, with what a/r curve...thanks a lot guys. i appreciate it.
ill start...currently runnin a b17 with a 60/48 t3 8psi (kinda want a 63ar...4200rpms at 80mph is touchy w/ boost), haven't touched a dyno yet, but after some small kinks will be tuning through an innovate wideband and chrome.

At this point in time, I'm making an amazing 197.4whp and 148tq on my GS-R with SC61. I feel this is a very safe level...
Once my wastegate is fixed(read: replaced), and I can run more than 4psi... I'll be good for much more power.

here is why i ask--
the richer the a/r, and the more you retard the engine, the safer your 'tune' is correct?
well... to achieve more power you want a (not extremely) 'lean'er tune and a little more advanced timing (say around .4 per pound)... now if you want to be safe and run 15psi but make it a little more rich than usual, and retard about a degree per pound, what is holding you back from cranking up the boost?
i love my car as much as the next guy, but i dont have every waking minute so spend with it...in fact im putting in around 60 hours a week right now, and im just trying to learn a little while i go...
what is considered a good tune? an even a/r? my brother and i share the innovate wideband and he works through chrome...just trying to figure a safe way of increasing power before i move to my next block...

242/221 on a stock LS with a 50 trim t3 (baby turbo). could of made more but i didnt want Dave to add more timing even though he said i could.
BTW i ran a 13.6 @ 109 with a 2.6 60ft.
all of this is on uberdata

I was looking for the same answer as you are.
I found that there are too many varibles in play as in what is safe and not.
for honda motor (STOCK) D, B, H, Fseries it seems that 7psi on a medium size t3t4 + fmu setup running rich is concidered fairly safe.
So it really depends on what turbo and motor you have.
I have a b18c1 with a small bb apexi turbo so 7psi on a t3t4 would not be the same as 7psi on my apexi turbo. So I would need to push about 10psi to achive that same 7psi affect of the t3t4.
Also for gsr the max whp on a DAILY driven car I would run... meaning SAME PSI all the time is 7psi (t3t4 size turbo) which equals roughly 230 to 240whp
4psi would be about 200whp
Also tunning plays the final role in who much you can boost CONSISTANTLY on a stock block.

That would depend on your tuner and his ability to fine tune. Also depends on how much ***** you got when they are tuning (At what boost level do you say quits to).
alot of you guys are running hondata, its such a nice system but out of my reach....
I think the afc- hack is sufficient for my setup of 10 psi small t-25 intercooled to a b16a2 in a ef civic... im still building it but obviously i will upgrade to hondata but this will do for now....
it all depends on size of turbo, how strong is the motor, compression ratio, a/f ,temps like everything..... haha
A good tuner will find how much you can do once your setup is done...

my setup consists of...
60 trim 48 ar t3 8psi
2.5" downpipe into 3" exhaust
450cc
uberdata
innovate wideband
some other air goodies (itr mani, 64mmTb, etc.)
b17 with stock 9.6 c/r
no numbers yet...but im guessing what should i shoot for for an a/r, think 11.8 or so? also, im retarding about 1 pound per degree,
dam some of these numbers are amazing...
