What does EP3 mean?

I don't understand which model is EP3? Is it a civic that is 2002 or newer?
What's that. Thanks.

chassis code for the new hatchbacks... 2002 and newer for now

Gotta love the chassis codes, do the EP3's have a K24A4 also, cause we have an element that has that motor.

The USDM EP3's have the K20A3 motor, the same one as the base RSX. The main difference between the base and the EP engine is that the EP has a Type-S intake manifold for more efficiency up top, while the base RSX uses a dual runner intake manifold.
