Hey guys, what's up? After doing a long search I can't seem to find an answer to my question.

Here's the deal. I just picked up a 98+ JDM ITR engine. Now the tranny does say S80 but I can't seem to find the LSD stamp. Isn't it suppose to have the stamp? How can I really tell if I do have a ITR Tranny instead of an JDM GSR one?(Besides ripping the thing apart.)

Please help. I'll try to post pics tomorrow if I can.

 

stock usdm has lsd stamp... i'm not sure about jdm..

 

is it a stamp or just written on there with a perm marker of some type???

 

just on with ink. not stamped into the casing or anything.

 

It comes off over time.

 

just visually check to see if there is an lsd

you should be able to tell just by looking at the trans with the axle out

 

1) put car on jack stands
2) nstall motor/tranny
3) drink some pepsi cause pepsi is good, and cant install any mod on a car without having one...
4) start car, put in gear and see if both tires spin =D
5) go make tire tread marks in the streets

 

With axles removed look through tranny. If completely clear, LSD is installed.
