Default Exhaust setup... Q's on flange and spring bolts.

I am going to be replacing my cat w/ straight pipe.... but have some questions...

If I replace the cat w/ test pipe and only flange the section to the header... but weld it to the rest of the B pipe, will that put too much pressure on the header flange/spring bolts ?

The 3-bolt flange on the end of the cat is a fixed design as well and just as rigid as not having a flange at all there.

OK....that answers that.... so basically, I should not have any developing leaks.

I'll be doing Header to flange... solid piping to a flanged muffler. sounds kosher ?

**Just want to ensure I get no leaks or excessive stress on the header.
