Default *** Question on Offset for 16" Wheels ***

I plan on getting 16x7 wheels and they have an offset of +42. I also plan on dropping the prelude with eibach sportlines (1.7 front and 1.5 rear). Will the wheels rub with this setup? I was looking at a sticky they have over at another honda prelude forum and it said that there is a possibility of rub depending on the drop but it didnt say how much or little of a drop causes wheel rub. Any help would be appreciated. TIA.

Oh.. I have a gen. 4 if that makes any difference.

hard to say, it's in that grey area.

shave that tab in the rear fenderwell and it MIGHT work, depending on what tires you're on.

If you were a 5gen I'd definitely say you'd be good to go. I have +40 offset on my 16x7 wheels. All I had to do was trim the tab in the rear fenderwell and I was good to go.

I'm sorry.. when you guys say trim the tab, could you post a pic of it? I'm more of a visual learner than vocal. A.D.D. owns me..

hmm i don't know if anyone has any pictures around but,

if you look in the rear wheelwell, you'll see towards the aft of the car, a place where the rear bumper meets the quarterpanel. there's a screw holding the 2 together. the place where they meet has a little plastic tab that kind of sticks out .5" into the wheelwell from the body. take a dremel and trim off the extra plastic.
