Default Skunk2 IM - can it be port matched to 70mm?

I wanted to know if it was possible to port match a skunk2 IM to 70mm?

Reason: I just ordered a 70mm TB with my sk2 IM

My main concern is that hole on the top left:

And this is the backside of the TB I got.

So is it possible to port the skunk2 IM to 70mm?

Thanx

PS: Pictures belong to http://www.inlinefour.com - thats where I ordered this stuff from

personally i don't know but i don't see why it can't be done all they would be doing is boring out the intake manny at the throttle body./ and thats only if the intake manny tb plate is not already 70mm or bigger. does anybody know how wlde the tb plate on the skunk2 manny is

i hope you're not using a 70 mm tb on a natural asprirated car... that's just over load not going to help performance.. might even hurt it ..

Hmmm, Stock it is 64mm...So you are only going 3mm more towards that hole.

Are you sure your TB is 70mm Plate and not at the mouth?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by XtraFastCRX &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i hope you're not using a 70 mm tb on a natural asprirated car... that's just over load not going to help performance.. might even hurt it ..</TD></TR></TABLE>

may be overkill for some motors, but not all.

Okay sorry guys... The ID of the TB is 68mm... So the IM will need to be port matched to 68mm...

And as far as the kid saying 70mm is too big - most of the fastest NA cars use 70mm, or ITB's...

yes a skunk 2 manifold can be ported to match a 70mm t/b. i have that set up on my car. as for performance check out importreview.com. they have a dyno showing gains with an n/a setup. i will tell you this throttle response is huge . that can be good and bad. id imagine its simmilar to itbs.

no but be careful because you get very close to the iac port in the manifold . good luck!!

My 70mm BBK went on my Skunk2 manifold. The hole on the manifold looks to be about 68mm, a little smaller than my throttle body. I don't think it's worth boring out.

you dont have to cut the entire manifold out you just need to port it so it tranistions well. if you dont port match it then you will not get full benifit of its size and it may even hurt flow.

I'm bringing this back up to the top. Through more research, I see that 50% of people say you can port the GSR Skunk2 IM to 70mm, and another half of people say you can only go to 68mm... Someone please varify before I destroy my IM...

Also - is there anyone running RPM service 70mm TB? Or any 70mm TB? How are they? Idle? Etc...

I'm wishing I had ordered the 68mm one...

THANX H-T!

I'm bring my RPM 70mm TB to Dennis at LDL sometime nextweek to have him port match it to my Skunk2 IM. I'll let you know if you are willing to wait.
