noob O2 sensor wiring question....
I was wondering if the o2 sensor was wired wrong would it cause my check engine lite go on ? The reason y I asked is because when i put an o2 sensor on my exhaust manifold and plugged it up my check engine lite turned off and i knoe there are 2 black wires and 1 green and 1 white... i matched up the green and white and i know the two black wires are suppose to go into the yellow wire w/ a black stripe and the other black wire goes into the orange w/a black stripe. I was wondering also if it mattered which black wire went into the orange or yellow wire?
Oh yeah i forgot to mention that i have a 92 civic hatchback w/ a DX ecu .. i took out the vtec ecu since i had it in there originally and since i didnt have the vtec head on the car ran way too rich.... my first emissions test I failed my (CH level) is suppose to be at 188 to pass but was at 418 due to no Catalytic converter and no o2 sensor

The black wires are ground, you can't really incorrectly connect them from what I understand.
I would reset your ECU. Use search to find the proper way, I wrote something up a while ago...
