Friend wants to know if 18's are out.....
I'd only get 18s if I was all show or had a lot of power(read:300hp+ Honda, 400hp+ supra, Motorex Skyline, etc.) My prelude will never have anything bigger than 16's, and I'm sticking with my 15" ITRs until everything else is done.
96-98 ITR rims...they were 525 shipped w/ pretty bald tires(taking them out to the races on Friday)...they're pretty rare, so I'll at least be original until the engine and suspension is done. Then I can blow a couple grand on some Volks or Advans.

ITRs are 5 lug, 4th gen Preludes are 4 lug.... Either you just bought wheels that won't fit, or you got a 5 lug conversion (and if you did that, why??)

They're 4x114 bolt pattern. They were being advertised as CTR rims, but CTRs were always 5 bolt, so I went to the ITR forum. They said that white 8 spoke, 4x114 rims were off of an ITR made between 96 and 98.
Ok, i was just hoping you didn't get screwed! Sounds cool, i knew the 96 JDM ones were 4 lug.. Just remember, they are .5 in more narrow, but its all good =~)
Thanks for your concern...
I was told that I would need 5mm wheel spacers, for the rims to fit over the front calipers. Does that sound logical?

No, ITRs and preludes have the same brakes, if it fits a ITR, i will fit the prelude..

Tell your boy if he wants big rims go 19's. That's the in style right now. If not, go small and fast.
they can be just as expensive. lol

Smaller if faster, and more practical..

i have 18's and they do slow you down considerably. but not enough for me to want to go back to little 16 inch wheels. if i had the money and went to the races alot i would buy a set of drag slicks, but other than that i can already beat 99.9 % of the cars out there just b/c of my prelude power. i really love the look of the 18's on a prelude.
17's are great for Preludes..just as long as they don't weigh too much.
I've always said...if I had an Integra I'd get 16's, if I had a Prelude I'd get 17's...and i have a Prelude. Mine are very light also, no compromise in weight.

Who cares if there going out..... trends it doesnt matter what does your friend like. I think 17 7.5 are good but thats me 18s are good too.... depends on style and body kit on the lude. My friends lude looks great with just the stock wheels with the Wings West kit he has. Although it would look much more badass with 17s or 18s but i wouldnt go any smaller. Low riders are gay.... and so are those SSs and Mustangs with 14 inch wheels that stick out. def go for what looks best on the car and what will give the car the greatest gain in proformance.
