i was at my friend's house chillin. i arrived there earlier at about 11:30 pm. at around 1am an alarm goes off, i rush outside but it was another car going off. so i double check my car and re-arm the alarm. fifteen minutes later i was on my way out his house to head home and noticed my car was not where i had parked it. i ran back inside his house to tell him. i then ran back outside and got on the phone with the cops, as i was describing and giving info on my car to them i heard a noise 4 houses down. as i turned over to look, i heard some trying to crank a car up(at this point i knew it was my car by the way it sounded). after hearing so my friend and i ran towards that direction. after about 2-3 tries of cranking they got the car started. the closest i got to chasin them down was 2 car lengths away. i couldn't see how many they were nor what nationality. my friend noticed it was gonna be too late to chase them on foot so half way of chasing them on foot he ran to his car. he went after them but by the time he got down the street, they were long gone.


f@cked up part was, my alarm didn't go off, i can't remember putting on the auto-lock, and they were able to push the car 4 houses away before starting it. i also came to think about it that if i didn't panic and ran back inside his house, i may have had a better chance of stopping them. that 30 seconds of running back and forth was enough time for them...

00' py itr gone as of approx 1:40 am on 3/5/04. don't know which # it was though because the car was broken into twice before and original armrest was stolen(i'm the 3rd owner).

 

aww man.. that sucks.. you can't be pissed about using time to run in and out though.. you had no idea they were still that close..

Don't feel like it's your fault for running back in, it may have saved your life. Who knows, they could have been armed and ready to fire if confronted. Keep us updated.

What alarm did you have on the car?

And you can't look back and say that it was your fault for running in and out... it takes time for the thought of losing your car to settle in... and since it only took 30 sec for you to realize what was going on, I'd say you did a pretty good job considering the circumstances... personally, I'd probably chitting bricks already...

Pretty nice alarm. Either they were super good about stealing your car or you got unlucky and all the sudden your alarm started to not work.

well to clip the wires u gotta pop the hood and in order to do that u gotta get inside the car. to top things off i have a sensor for the hood too. these guys knew wassup and they knew what they wanted.

actually, you can pop the hood from outside the car.. i'm pretty sure that had something to do with my first r being stolen..
