Default possible bad heater core in 1st gen CR-V

I just got a 98 CR-V 2 weeks ago and the heater doesn't seem to blow as strong as I'd think it should. It's been pretty cold over here for the past week and even on full blast my windows are still fogged up sometimes. Just wondering if anyone knows what might cause this. I've asked a couple friends and they said it could be a bad heater core?

well if the heater core is gone you wont get any heat out of it, it will just blow air, the heater core has nothing to do with the amount of speed the fans blow out though so i don't think its heater core unelss your not getting any heat at all, as for the foggy windows my 2000 subaru impreza can have the defrost CRANKED and the back passenger windows will still fog if there is 5 people in the car, that has nothing to do with heater core at all

Doesn't it have the filters on it near the fan? Maybe the polination filters are plugged. You should have it on fresh air and not recirculate.

I doubt heater core. You would smell the sweet stench of coolant inside if it leaks.

we have a crv too. it's a 97 with around 115,xxx miles on it.

our blower fan is kinda weak too, and noisy. we've changed the filter last year after 6 years, it improved the air flow a little bit, but it's still noisy and the amount of air coming out is not a lot. heater core is ok, heat is coming out ok, but defrosting the windows aft of the b-pillar can sometimes be a problem or even the front windows if temperature gets really low.

we have been pouring a lot of money on this car for repairs and maintenance in recent years. bearings (twice) bushings tie rods stabilizer links All the door locks have died one by one..... and it's still making some click click sound from the front and squeaking from ..... the front somewhere. a bit disappointed with this honda product! my 98 integra is more trouble free.

fortunately the drivetrain is still trouble-free and reasonably smooth without burning a drop of oil. still love the car tho
