Default civic type r headlights

well I just got the 99-00 civic type r headlights and was wondering how do you get the reflector thing that covers the main headlight bulb out of the old headlight and into my new type r headlights. I dont was to pry the light open is there any other way to do this? Please let me know asap because I'm installing it right now and am stuck.

Thanks

The jdm ones obviously come without them for a reason. I would assume since the housing is tinted that it doesnt reflect as well as the chrome so there for it doesnt need the sheild on the bulb. Please leave it be. I had a set and my friend had a set and no cover for us. remember they come that way for a reason.

Why does everyone think ctr headlights are tinted? The smoked portion of the housing has nothing to do with the reflective portion of the headlight.

The bulb shields are not required in Japan. You won't need them as long as your headlights are adjusted properly.

Here's a pic of them on my old hatch.

I got my CTR Headlight and I didn't put those deflector on just beccause they can be hard. As far as I know, you don't really need them, I got better vision without them.

The only problem is they can be really bright is you stare at them the wrong way..

Then again after looking at all of the posts in this thread, I like the smoked look. I dont like the chrome lights, and plus the diy method is so jenki its not even funny. I would rather have the look from an oem provider.
