My speedometer keeps bouncing back and forth and i dont know the problem. I had two engines and three different trannies in this car before and the problem is still there so i dont think its a engine. Does anyone know where the wires are at on the ECU so i can check if the wires have good contact? Does anyone else have any suggestions because sometimes the speedometer doesnt work at all so i have NO VTEC. thanks :

 

Check for corrosion on the speed senor in the tranny, did you use the same one for all 3 trannys you used? Buddy of mine had a similar problem and that was the cause.

 

Do you have any kind of oil in the vsp? Spray brake cleaner in the connection to clear it, it may be some help.

 

Also,

check to make sure that you didn't somehow pinch some wires in the crankcase, or some type of mated surface like that.

It might be pinched, and just barely uninsulated.

ill try the brake cleaner trick...hope it works. And i did have different VSP everytime i had a new tranny in...BUT does anyone know the pins on ECU so i can check that too....THANKS

 

same here on my teg, its such a pain in the *** cause the cops point their laser right at me and i almost **** my pants cause i have no idea how fast im going and the just give me a stare. Ive been fortunate so far but i dunno how much longer this is gonna happen.

does anyone know what problem this can be? Im about to switch out my whole dash car wire harness....i was at CMI this weekend at SAC and my VTEC started tripping....well i ended up losing and now im really determined to fix it!!help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
