My vote was for the GSXR. Out of your choices, it has (seemingly to me) the best ergos. And since you stated just for cruising, might as well be damn comfy! May I also suggest handlebar risers.

Forget about the gixxer IF youre looking for comfort. Very uncomfortable. Personally Id go with the R6, voted the second most comfortable next to the F4i. Never rode the 748 so i wouldnt know.
If id chose it would be between the 600RR and the R6.

For me, the R6 put too much pressure on my wrists. The GSXR600 was amaingly roomy in comparison. Maybe it's just me...

i dont really like to be honest... yes theyre fast bla blah blah... im leaning towards the 600rr , gixxer or new r6.... i dont know if thats really leaning but yea.. only thing throwing me from the rr is that is 30 lbs heavier (wet) than all the other bike in its class

From all the magazine reviews so far, the Honda carries its weight extremely well. Same has been said of the new 1000RR. So don't let that deter you from a good bike.
I'd take a CBR for pissing about anyday. Dukes are crap (its true) and 748's a re dog gutless abominations that are only fit to power lawn sprinklers. My opinion is to stuff all your cash into a proper race bike and get a beater.
Remember there are things that are designed for each purpose, so you may as well get the best whilst you can.

Nope, don't have one, when I read the thread on how much gas that bike burnt though I was amazed...I guess if you ride conservatively you can get decent mileage though...still for a 600cc motorcycle you would think you would get something more like 45 mpg...but, guess that's the loss for having a performance bike.

bull - lots of performance bikes gets 50mpg.
The CBRrr gets worse mileage because the power is up high (track bike really), and it's not ideal for the street. Driving around at 7k rpm sucks and the price to be paid is in gas mileage.
Cheers,
Sean
