Default ex\si tranny prices

what should i pay for a good ex\si tranny i was quoted 600 for a rebuilt ex, i have a dx and the gears are way too freaking tall, 5th is useless. can i sub a different lower final drive from another tranny to come up with a better combo?

That's rip off. I gave my grinding transmission away for free last week.

I recently saw a Y8 for that much in the classifieds.

Buy my gearset. Includes final drive, ring gear, diff, gear cluster. You gotta put the DX differential on the EX ring gear, use the top two countershaft bearings from the DX, and then strip the EX mainshaft and install a new thrust shim. Its a HUGE pain in the ***.
