I was under the impression that since we have no torque they appear strong..

It's not the transmission that's going to hold you up on your power goals, it's the quote-unquote "driveshaft" and the rear "axles": otherwise known as "Pixey-Stick and friends".
And don't you dare drop that B20 for a B18...what's the point? Loss of torque and slight gain of horsepower in a heavy chassis? Not a good tradeoff. If you want to play parts-trader with your CRV, get a B16 head and slap it on there, run some oil passages and have yourself a dandy CRVTEC. Lose the rear "drivetrain" and slap a B18C tranny with LSD on that boy and I'm sure you'd be in the 14's.
Actually, one of our members has done the CRVTEC in a CRV and he got pretty good times for that land barge.

WTF has H-T turned into???
WTF has H-T turned into???
haha. worried about 200hp? wow....
I dont think we have problems with the legend axles, or transmission until we get up past 300hp, but by then, we will need new rods and pistons (rods only take 300 or so, and pistons can do 350)
anyway. What about an H22 or something? i hear those are pretty nice engines.
