Default V-afc on non vtec?

will a v-afc still work on a 99 hatch with stock y7 motor? We plan on doing a y8 soon but want to have some kind of tuning for the car right now.
thanks

havent ever tried, but probably not because it ties in with the VTEC function in your ECU, and if you dont have it.....

Why not just get an SAFC? And then when the Y8 goes in, upgrade to a Hondata setup.

I ran a vafc on my non-vtec and it ran just fine, all the fuctions still work like they should. the only thing was that vtec wire was not connected

Does any one know if the V-tec wire is a plus 12 v? or ground? or something? Thinking it would work real good for n20 and slightly larger injectors

::EDIT:: just found out 12v signal for v-tec engagement and then you get more adjusting point things if you wire it up to like a shift light kind of thing so it switches maps halfwasy
