i got a swap a while back in my 93 civic ex. and its time for a tune up and oil change. do i need to know the year of the engine? to get the right parts

what do u mean by tune up...what do you plan to do

 

if i am not mistaked, check on your head by the exhaust manifold, there should be engraving of the year of production. as for the oil change. I would say most honda's, oil filters (fram- 3593A).

 

 

To answer your question, You don't need to know the year.
Just tell them the part is for a 94-95 del sol vtec. You can also use parts from integra's. It all depends on the part. I know i had a hard time getting the rite cap for my car, it turns out I have a gs-r distributor..
Anyways, plugs, oil filter, plug wires, gaskets,etc can be from a teg or civic si or del sol. I know how schucks is when it comes to getting parts, they HAVE to know what car it's for, even if you explain that the engine didn't come in the car. It's like they are helpless without their computer telling them what to do next.
