Default 1989 Accord A/C Problem

The compressor on my '89 Accord won't engage all of a sudden. I've checked the fuse panel under the dash and under the hood, but nothing seemed responsible for the compressor. Any clues where I should look?

Sounds like you have a burned up compressor..

filthy,

Not sure what else I can add...

The clutch doesn't engage the compressor when I turn on the a/c. As I said before, I checked the fuses. Do you know of any wiring that I could check out?

I've spent a lot of money on this car lately and would like to not have to take it in again for a while. It's always been maintained and had almost 150k miles.

Sadly enough if you have never replaced the compressor that is most likely it...its a air compressor in its simplist state they do wear out over time..

how long have you had the car for? Has there been extended periods of time you DIDN'T use the A/C?

I've had the car over a year and would run the a/c quite often (2-3 times a week) to help with the fog on the inside of the windshield.

This car used to be my parents (since new), but my Mom sold it to me after my Dad passed away.

I may just bring it in. If it's the compressor, I'll just live without a/c for a while.
