I think that you will be running about 11.5:1.

info needed to calculate...
H22 head cc 53.8cc
H23 bore 87mm
H23 stoke 95mm
OEM head gasket .027"
effective OEM Gasket thickness after.040" mill = -.013
H22 piston cc ~2cc

Oh BTW, your cam timing will be retarded about 1.1° cuz the .040" mill.
So you might look into some adjustable cam gears.

the 11 5 1 sounds just awsome but the retarded timing just sucks. i fugured that i would set the timing on the distributor to like 18...what do you think

cam timing is completely different than ignition timing
bad cam timing gets you piston to valve contact like when your timing belt snaps
bad ignition timing gets to reduced power/effiency(when retarded) and knocking (when advanced)

One degree is really not that much but when you go all motor and you are trying to squeeze all of the power out of you engine then Adj. cam gears are a good idea to play with cam settings. Otherwise $200 can be spent elsewhere like learning to drive.

Set your ignition timing to 15°, I believe that is what the mark on the flywheel is. Otherwise it is something that you need to tune on the dyno for the most power.
