It is as hard as swiping the credit card. Otherwise It is more time consuming than hard.

Indeed. VERY time consumming, which it should be. Timming is something you dont want to mess up. But not hard at all.

The first time i did it it took me an entire day to dis-assemble everything and get the new timming parts on, took me about half the next day to put everything back together. Again, i was taking my sweet *** time and triple checking everything as i went along, you dont want to break anything or lose anything when it comes to timming. I also replaced the camshaft rubber cap and head cover gasket while i was at it so that added more time.
Now that i have done it once, i could do it again in one day for sure.

I'm just curious, what time did you start working on the car? Also, did you research anything before you tacked this job or did you just go at it armed with the Helm and tools?
I'm doing cams, timing belt, water pump etc this month and have been asking questions to people I know have done it for a while now. Bought a lot of special tools as well. I'm actually planning on getting this done within 24 hours *crosses fingers*

It's really not that hard. I havn't done the cams before on a Prelude, but the timing belts and water pump usually take me about 3 hours tops. I would think since you have not done this before and are going by a manual it may take you around 5. The cams should be fairly simple to swap out and set the valve lash. Maybe take you 2 hours. You really should be able to get it all done in a day no problem.
I started at 9:30am to 6:00pm one day, with several breaks to eat and look through. Then the next day i started at 11:00am and by 3:pm i was done. I had red the helms manual several times before i started. But again, i took my sweet *** time and i always stopped to look at other things. But if you tackel this job hard and equiped with the helms and the right tools, you can do it in one day. I dont know about the cams and water pump, that could add some time to your over all project.
I would take a whole weekend off just to make sure you have enough time to do everything. And remmember, nothing ever goes smooth and perfect. There are always gonna be things that go wrong. A bolt that wont come loose, or a valve cover washer you might loose(Like me) that will eat up time. Plus the infamous crankshaft pulley. But dont worry its pretty easy to take off as long as you have the crankpulley holder.
but the wisest thing i could tell you..........
Helms = Anything is possible.
Autozone tools = Broken knuckels
