Default 1992 CX build-up questions...

So, I'll be building my 92 CX for track use (eventually will become an ITC car, but that will be at least a year away).

I have some general questions that need answers. Hopefully some of you can help...

What spring rates should I run? Just kidding.

But really, I need to know...

What us the engine code in this car? I know it's a D15 of some variety, but not the specific code.

What ecu? OBD1 correct?

What transmission? Is it the same as (or at least share FD and diff with) 92-95 DX? EX/Si? Or maybe the 2nd gen CRX?

All this will effect the order in which I perform upgrades to the car. IE, if some JDM gear set and diff fits, then I can probably do it sooner rather than later. If I've gotta go custom, then it gets put on the back burner.

Go ahead and buy a shop manual. All of your answers are OFFICIALLY there and you'll need one eventually anyway.

Scott, who says it doesn't matter what HT.com says, Ye olde shop manual is what determines ye olde legalitee.

I'd like to know if the factory repair manual is required, or if something lesser, like a Haynes is acceptable. Seems like everytime I have a rules questions, my GCR is lent out to a friend.

AFAIK the factory (not Haynew or Chilton or similar) manual is required.

The factory manual is required unless you can demonstrate that it is no longer available.
