OK.... all motor LS..... need help from U R guys
OK.... here is the deal... I have a 94 LS.... with b18b1..... I just ordered the crower 404 ( most aggresive ) cams.... dual vavle springs... titanium retainers.... i just rebuilt the bottom end with new bearings... seals..... eagle rods... and had the crank balanced..... i have an AEM CAI.... stock header... and stock cat and 2.5 inch piping all the way back to my N1 muffler.... im ordering a skunk2 manifold next week and having my throttle body ported too..... now here is the deal..... i want a JDM 4-1 header and a matching cat....or a test pipe...... i was wondering if u guys knew if/how a JDM 4-1 could fit my head.... and if not... what would be my best option..... these cams should be MEAN... and need to breath.... im plannin on having my head ported and what not cuzz we all know the head design is the weak point of the LS motor...... so i just want ur opinion... i work at a transmission shop..... so i already have gears 1 through 4 from the R in my tranny ( actually from a wrecked Si ) and still retain my stock 5th for freeway milage purposes... i had my ECU chipped and have taken the car to 7000 RPM only.. the bottom end will be able to hold up to round 8700..... nicely..... im thinkin most my power will start to drop round 8500 tho.. so no need to go crazy high.. NEway... yall let me know bout what header/cat would be good for this set up
With the Crower 404's you won't really need to rev past 8k and since you already have gears that are closely spaced together you shouldn't have any problems at all. The JDM header should fit with no problems.
Ohhhh... my bad.... im running USDM ITR pistons and im using a new b16a tranny with LS 5th..... i just wasnt sure if the JDM header fit since ive never heard of a LS using one

any car is a $ pit if u look at it that way... hell... i bet if u told a domestic guy that u spent 1200$ on a header and the car will only go to 220 to 240 to the wheels maxed out he would call that a $ pit any day of the week...... just after putting that tranny on my car with all the bolt on i ran a 15 flat...... not too bad for a LS with 130k on the motor.... and that was b4 i rebuilt the bottom end... my car is a hobby..... i enjoy doing these things to it...... i have no car note and work 70 hours a week.... so the $ is not too much of a prob to me..... implanning on runnnin this set up with my 60 shot of NOS i already have on top.. U may call that a $ pit... but ithink with all these things and the 60 shot my car should be plenty fast for me..... i would have plenty of performance that i can actually use..... 180 at the wheels would be just fin... ive rode in a a hyrbrid with a b18b with 404.... it was defenitly quick and didnt have near as much done as i have to my car....... i wont flame u...... but i did hand a eciplse GST-x it *** the other day.... and all he could say is there is no way thats an LS..... then he saw my scubba gear and got mad and drove away
