i have a black em1 and i will do the diy ctr headlight deal very soon. but i don't want to be unhappy with what color i use so help me out. Take in consideration the color of my car and what you think will look best.

if you have any better ideas for a color please tell me

I think a gloss black would look best since your car is already black.

are the oem ctr headlights black chrome or something? they look way different from the fake ones.

 

they are a shiny flat silverish

 

they are darker chrome, not flat black
the flat black ones that people either DIY or buy from ebay look

 

i think u should leave it. I painted mine before and ended up trading for stock ones a week later. Looks cleaner not painted. Painted black just looks like way too much black..

 

I always love me a black DIY, if I get an EK that is the first thing that I am going to do.

it almost looks like a gold/copper/chrome mixture...i have yet to see someone paint them to look even close to real ctr ones.

 

mine are charcoal metallic
