Default Brake Pad life span............

How long are your front pads lasting?? I put on some Cobolt GT sports last June and they are toast. I had some major wear on the front left inside pad, guess the caliper isn't releasing quickly but the other 3 pads were all past the 50% wearing point. But is that normal for that type of aggresive pad?? I did maybe 6 events and drive hard daily on them but is 9 months the best I can expect??

Everyone's mileage will vary on any given pad. Maybe someone will chime in about the Cobalt GT's which I personally have never used. However, significant wear discrepancies between the front two pads is a red flag. You should get to the bottom of that first.

-travis, who would give anything for a pad to last 9 months.

For track use, the number of actual track miles is a better indicator of pad life. My front pads last me anywhere from 200 to 800 actual track miles; my rear pads last anywhere from 400 to 1500. In both cases, that is significantly less than six events.
