i'm about to buy a LS block. the guy said 95 LS blocks don't have the VIN on it. is that true? he said the newer ones (96-01) have the VIN only.

 

True. I had a 95 LS block and no VIN. It wasn't a requirement, to my understanding, until 1996 to have the VIN number on the block.

 

Ive had a 95 LS and a 95 GSR...neither of which had a VIN on the motor or trans.

how would i know if the block is a 94-95 (OBD1) compared to a OBD2 block?
