since I owned an old school integra.. here is the deal.

no USDM car came with a ZC. The 1st generation integras (86-89) are the only years that got DOHC D series engines. I believe this is the only DOHC D series that was made. Engine Code: D16A1 The ZC is very similar to the D16A1 but they are a bit different. bore on ZC is 75mm bore on D16A1 is 75.5mm stroke is the same.

if you are looking to do a swap.. don't pay for the ZC it does not have that much power gain over the D16A1.. also there are 2 types of ZC's out there as well. The old school ZC's have the valve cover bolts in the center of the valve cover and will bolt right into an 86-89 integra. The new ZC has the valve cover bolts on the outside of the valve cover and looks like a B-series. This will not bolt right into an 86-89 integra due to the motor mount points being the same as a B-series.

Also if you are looking to get a D16A1 the 86-87 integras had vacuum advance distributors while the 88-89 integras had electronic advance deistributors.

They were also in the 94-95 JDM integras.

There was never a LS B18B motor in Japan. They all got the ZC instead.

I can't believe people are so misinformed and still post wrong information. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by CrX-To-Tha-Max &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

thanks, I've heard rumors that they came in some integras....i'm looking for a complete gasket set through a friend of mine who works at O'Rieleys auto parts, and I can get sets from my job Wheels & Co. here in Louisiana, it's just that most places can't look it up by the engine code and honda parts dept said they needed a vin # of the car it's out of or to know what car it came from, but they can't look up JDM cars....i dunno, anyone know a p# for a complete gasket set?

Yes, there's a crap load of misinformation floating around, people who haven't a clue what they're talking about just blabbering on. Here's the info you need:

Although there were no USDM ZC's. There are parts that can be found on USDM motors.

I had a ZC till last thursday, for the love of god don't listen to the idiots that tell you its an old motor and is weak and not worth it. Its the same age as the b16 since these people claim the b16 is newer & parts are more readily available.e

D16A1s are not worth the trouble. if you want to stay d-series, get a ZC or a D16Z6 or something. do a search on D16A1 and count the headaches.

"bore on ZC is 75mm bore on D16A1 is 75.5mm stroke is the same."

not sure about that one, it should be 75mm nominal; never heard of a 75.5mm bore....

From what I've heard, the D16A1 is not a direct drop in to the ED chassis, the mounts are a little different.

You'll need a time machine set to 2004 for any of those people to respond.

since you asked, maybe 13621-PM7-003, depending on whether the crankshaft has a 22mm dia. front snout or 24mm dia. - that part no. is for 24mm - regardless, the part has been discontinued - wasn't ever available from Honda in the U.S. - 22mm ones are hard to find as they only came on the 88's - 89-91 were 24mm
