OT: Heading to Japan at the end of the month for vacation...What should I check out?
I'm spending a week in Japan. I'm flying into Tokyo on March 29 and coming back April 4th. I'd like to check stuff out, have fun, check out shops, junkyards, what ever... Can you guys tell me what places to check out? Thanks
up garage, Super Autobacs(the one in yokohama cuz it has a dyno), Type One (if you can find it)
, phase, yokohama bay bridge rest stop on friday and saturday nights (its off the hook), ramen huts, akihabara (spelling?).
Thats all I can think of for now have fun and try not to ogle the school girls.

JNTO is the best reference site for Japan:

If you are looking for Honda parts, most shops do not stock a whole lot.
Spoon/Type One or Super Autobacs - Tokyo Bay/Shinonome would be your best bet...but SA is expensive.
Here's the map for SA-Tokyo Bay:

If you wanna go shopping, head for Shinjuku or Shibuya
BTW, Alan (Honda-Tech member "moonbus") lives near Shinagawa; you might want to IM him...
Have fun! Japan is

I would also like to know what places I should check also because I'm gonna be going to Japan this June for 1 month.
I'm struggling on finding a homestay though. If any of you guys know any, please let me know...

Go to odaiba. Its right accross the rainbow bridge. Theres a couple of large shopping centers there. There is also MegaWeb which is a HUGE toyota showroom (very cool) you can also see the fuji tv building and the worlds largest ferris wheel there. For other shopping go to Ikebukuro, Akihabara, Shibuya, and harajuku. You gotta go to Uni Qlo. Its kinda like gap except really cheap. Tokyu Hands is a pretty cool department store with alot of random stuff. Dont forget to go clubbin in Roppongi. Its like the foreigners district. a bunch of the girls there speak english
Theyre also very easy if youre looking for a quickie
For some culture, go to Asakusa. theres some temple there but i forgot what its called. hope that helps!
