i just build mine and this is what i payed
keep in mind i did all the labor myself
this is just what i payed for machine work and parts

BLOCK:

1.rebuild block with new SIR pistons with rings/pins - new pistons and rings costed me $220
-rebore/hone block-$88
-wash oil/water passages- u mean hot tank -$33
2.polish crankshaft-$33
3.press out/in rods$33
4. re-size rods$50
5. new oil pump-vtec oil pump -$100
6. new gaskets and seals - forgot
7. new bearings- $140
8. new water pump OE forgot
9. new timing belt OE for got
10. Disassemble/Assemble Engine

Cylinder Head:

$377.00
1.Machine Cylinder head for LS-VTEC conversion $33
-parts, labor included
2. New Head Gasket OE - 40

i have no idead how your being charged $377 for the head when all your doing is paying for the head gasket for for them to plug the vtec oil and the dowls, i only payed $33 for that

personally i think that anyone that doesent build their own lsvtec and pays someone to do it shouldent own a lsvtec.
and labor is one of the most expensive things

the work on the head is way too expensive. a valve job doesn't even cost that much.

i agree, not everyone knows how to build an lsvtec

btw, spark racing can do it for like $1200, i htink its $1000 if u supply the block. comes with ITR pistons

The block ad head works seems a little pricey. I would add ARP Rods bolts and main bolts and its always a good idea to recondition the big end of the rod after installing the rod bolts.

In my opinion its not the cheapest way to go. I really think this is a fair price too. I built mine and here's the list:

1. Stock p30 del slow Intake Mani- 75$ used
2. P28 ECU Chipped for B16a Proggy $115 + $30 for chipping
3. LSVTEC Oil Line 65$
4. LS Head Gasket 40$
5. Integra OBD 1 GSR ECU 120$
6. PR3 B16a2 Pistons 80$ - used
7. ARP Rod Bolts -50$
8. Crankcase Gasket Set - 80$
9. Vtec head gasket set (had to use other gakets - head gasket) 160$
10. ARP Head Studs 120$
11. 99 GSR Cams ;wanted a lil power for cheap price 60$
12. B M Fuel Reg w/ gauge 100$

More stuff but hate listing them , these are some basic parts and prices to start with a LSVTEC
13. B16A DOHC VTEC HEAD 350$
