Default downs of not running a cat?


jdm b18c-r swap in EG with skunk 2 full cat back system.....im installing this weekend and want to forget the cat and run straight pipe.....any downsides to this....will i loose power? i know smog will be an issue but i have that locked...thanx

you will gain top-end, exhaust note will be louder and buzzier. more visible smoke and scent. be careful if you get caught the fines are ridiculously high. a slight tint of smoke is a tell-sight of a missing cat, a CHP who knows will catch on to that.

i don't run a cat on my hatch and no problems with smoke. the exhaust is louder though, yet still sounds clean.

Smells like poo, sounds like poo, bad for the environment, crazy expensive if you get caught, and no more power compared to a high-flow cat.
